Open Day Programme

You have an open day scheduled for your child who is going to be joining sixth form A levels soon and you are wondering what will be on the program. Open days are days set aside by sixth form colleges where parents and prospective students can learn more about the school. The details of the program will depend on the school that you will be visiting but they all have a few things in common. The commencement of the open day program will be outlined on the schedule and it is important to get there promptly because you don’t want to miss any of the important presentations.
The school master may star by inviting parents and students to have refreshments after which you will all be assembled for the main part of the event. You will learn more about the school – its attributes, pass rate and other positive qualities. The head teacher will also talk about matters such as the subjects that are on offer and universities that students can expect to join.
Afterwards parents will be invited for a short tour of the school during which you can see the main facilities. Teachers and other authority figures in the school will be with you throughout the open day and it is up to you to talk to them about any questions you may have about the school.
When you attend an open day it is important to think not just about the academic welfare of your child, but also how they will be able to fit in – they should live in an environment where they are comfortable and have the support they need to be successful students.
One school that will not let you down is the Cambridge Centre for Sixth Form Studies. They have one of the best A level colleges in the city. You can find out when they have their next open day on their website, https://www.ccss.co.uk/.
